Save Your Natural Tooth

Endodontics

Our endodontists use rotary instrumentation and digital apex locators to treat infected or damaged pulp with precision and minimal discomfort.

Endodontics at Roomchang Dental Hospital

Endodontics focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of problems inside the tooth — specifically the dental pulp and root canals. This area of dentistry is essential for relieving pain, eliminating infection, and preserving your natural tooth structure.

When the inner pulp becomes inflamed or infected — often due to deep decay, cracks, trauma, or repeated dental procedures — endodontic treatment is required to prevent further damage or tooth loss.

What is Root Canal Treatment?

Root canal treatment is the most common endodontic procedure. It involves removing the infected or damaged pulp, thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the root canals, and sealing the space with a biocompatible material.

This process not only eliminates pain and infection but also allows the tooth to function normally for years to come. Preserving your natural tooth helps maintain proper chewing, jaw structure, and overall oral health.

Signs You May Need Endodontic Treatment

Persistent tooth pain or sensitivity
Pain when chewing or biting
Swollen or tender gums
Darkening of the tooth
Sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers

Post & Core Restoration

In cases where a tooth has lost a significant amount of its structure after root canal treatment, a post and core may be recommended. A small post is placed inside the cleaned root canal to provide support, and a core buildup is used to rebuild the missing portion of the tooth.

Types of Posts

Metal Post

Made from stainless steel or other metal alloys. Very strong and durable — commonly used in back teeth where strength is a priority. Less aesthetic, as it may show through the tooth or crown in some cases.

Fiber Post

Made from glass or carbon fiber materials. Tooth-coloured for better aesthetics, ideal for front teeth. More flexible, which helps distribute stress and reduces the risk of root fracture. Bonds well with tooth structure for added support.

Our Approach

At Roomchang, we use modern techniques and advanced technology to ensure that endodontic treatments are precise, efficient, and as comfortable as possible. Most procedures can be completed in one or two visits under local anaesthesia.

Our goal is always to save your natural tooth whenever possible, restoring both function and aesthetics while minimising discomfort.

Aftercare and Results

Your dentist will recommend the most suitable post option based on the location of the tooth, amount of remaining structure, and aesthetic needs.

Following treatment, a dental crown or restoration is typically placed to protect and strengthen the tooth. With proper care — including good oral hygiene and regular check-ups — endodontically treated teeth can last just as long as natural teeth.
